Your custom home builder should listen closely, answer honestly, and understand how personal your project really is.
Choosing a custom home builder isn’t simply a construction decision. You’re choosing the people you’ll work with through months of planning, questions, decisions, changes, and exciting milestones. Experience matters, but so does having a team you can talk to openly and trust to give you useful information throughout the process.

At Foxcraft Homes, we have been part of the Cumberland, Maryland community since 1983. Today, we’re a woman-owned custom home builder carrying decades of experience into a new chapter while staying grounded in the values that shaped the company from the beginning. We believe honesty belongs in every part of the building process. If something needs to be addressed, we’ll address it instead of avoiding a difficult conversation.
Our process starts with an initial discussion about your vision. From there, we’ll establish direction and next steps, prepare a proposal, review it with you, make necessary revisions, and move toward a contract and deposit when you’re ready to proceed.
Design is part of the experience too. Our in-house CAD capabilities allow you to sit down with our team and work through plans directly. You can bring professionally designed plans, customize an existing layout, or begin developing something specifically for you.
Once construction starts, your custom home builder connects your plans with the people needed to make them happen. We value local relationships and work with tradespeople from the communities we serve.
From breaking ground to choosing the light fixtures, we want you to feel cared for and informed. A custom home builder should do more than construct the house. We believe in helping you understand the journey and building your home together.
